Projects
Globalization has provoked a new urban water arena, where international institutions, corporate governance and grass-roots organizations are playing a major role in reframing systems of power. Analysis of the emerging “urban water arena” is crucial for advancing sustainable and realistic solutions to the water crisis in different environmental contexts (water-scarce or water-rich). Field research is concentrated primarily in cities of the Americas (South and North) and Paris (France) often in collaboration with teams from those regions and countries. A longer-term aim of Dr. Schneier-Madanes’ research is to explore the ideas of water from a social sciences perspective. Her goal is to bridge gaps between physical and natural sciences through a number of coordinated research programs and projects. |
